Arriving in Bastia, a photo from Corse, South

Photographer's Note

One of the advantages of travelling by the night boat to Corsica, is waking at sun-rise and standing on deck as the boat sails into port. This time, Bastia. Once you are on land, Bastia is quite a chaotic sprawl but from the sea and bathed in the morning sunlight a sight to behold. Welcome back to Corsica!

L'arrivée à Bastia par le traversier est toujours spectaculaire surtout quand la lumière est aussi belle et éclaire de côté ces belles maisons colorées.

Hello Elaine,
Personally I arrived in Bastia by taxi from the airport but I still found the city quite enjoyable, not really chaotic. This is probably the nicest view of the city and you were lucky to be there when the weather was perfect. The lighthouse and church tower balance each other very well and the warm colours are enchanting.
