Visiting the Attica zoo with my grandson and his parents,i took with my new lens, several photos with excellent results,i think .
You can see here the real photo before the cropping.
What's New At The Attica Zoo
The Attica Zoological Park opened in May 2000, initially as a Bird Park, hosting the 3rd largest bird collection in the world (1500 birds from 300 different species), farm animals for the younger visitors and 3 very impressive big aviaries with birds from the 3 continents of Asia, Africa and America where visitors can walk through. In April 2001 we opened a new section, the "World of reptiles " with Pythons, Boas, Crocodiles and other reptiles and in July 2002 the "Greek fauna " section was inaugurated with Wolfs, Brown Bears, Foxes, Wild Cats, Lynxes etc. In February 2003 we added a major extension, the "African Savannah " (Giraffes, Zebra, Antelopes etc) as well as Lamas, Jaguars, Snow Leopards , the very rare White Lions and other beautiful mammals.

Hi Danos, haha, Funny shot. Giraffes are so gracious when the eat the leaves from the high trees but they have so difficult to drink water from a pond. The legs are certainly too long. Fortunately the neck is also long. Fi ne shot from the zoo but more fun to see them free.
jmdias (55325) 2012-12-06 0:41
amazing image, the effort of the animal to reach the ground, where it will be only near the death, is fantastic. the structure of its legs and head created a beautiful graphic effect. TFS.
mauro61 (52623) 2012-12-06 0:42
CLODO (30220) 2012-12-06 0:49
very unusual situation well taken with a kind of mystery!
dkmurphys (49220) 2012-12-06 1:05
Quite an original POV. I like your idea of cropping the body. Well done!
serp2000 (39982) 2012-12-06 1:07
Funny and amazing capture of the some parts of giraffe. I think this photocould be in a Humorous theme too. An interesting note, good report from the zoo.
ikeharel (57080) 2012-12-06 3:30
Even a Giraff must eat and drink sometimes, but too difficult with a long neck, danos.
You taken a special moment from an angel obsecuring the forth leg by the neck.
Fine sharpness and natural colors of the impressive animal.
bayno (18342) 2012-12-06 4:02
very funny image, beautiful light and colors...we can see just a small part of the leg...well see and take...
jacquest (18633) 2012-12-06 4:12
Is this your new tripod for your camera ?
This is a well done unusual shot to show the stance of the giraffe picking at something on the ground. The good colors and sharpness makes it am interesting composition.
pierrefonds (56931) 2012-12-06 4:34
Using the legs and the head of the giraffe to create the scene is a good idea. The point of view is showing the details and colors of parts of the giraffe. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.
papagolf21 (86056) 2012-12-06 6:34
Bonjour, cher Danos,
sacimar (25975) 2012-12-06 7:15
this is an impressive image, I like the idea and the presentation, it's an original animal picture, I like it! Nice job,

kasianowak (6383) 2012-12-06 13:06
It's not easy to take a unique photo of a giraffe, and yet, this is precisly what you did! Fantastic POV and it was a really good idea to crop.
vasilpro (40933) 2012-12-06 13:36
aliabazari (15387) 2012-12-06 20:47
gildasjan (41582) 2012-12-07 1:02

Bluejeans (64249) 2012-12-07 5:53
Ola Danos ,
adramad (37991) 2012-12-07 9:50
Two fabulous pictures of both this and the WS. curious stance, that of the giraffe to reach the ground with their legs wide open, to be his usual position, to enter drinking tantopara floor to eat.
Superb brightness and sharpness.
Have a nice weekend.
bukitgolfb301 (35886) 2012-12-07 14:44

Hello Danos. The picture is something special here. And it actually works. The giraffe looks like a tripod. Really well seen and perfectly realized.
have a nice WE.
Noel_Byrne (24199) 2012-12-08 9:38
Aaah, a tripod has come to life and is eating the greenery!! Haha, very nicely seen, and the crop is perfect to show the effect. Love how the giraffe is facing you too!
All the best
ACL1978 (7467) 2012-12-08 9:56
Great closeup of an angle and POV not often seen with a giraffe! Great symmetry and detail - you must be quite happy with the new lens to make possible shots like this one! As always, though, the skill of the photographer is the most important thing, and you chose a wonderful view here with good light and DOF.
geoant68 (331) 2012-12-08 10:18
mesutilgim (84216) 2012-12-08 10:37
Hello dear Danos,
Very nice capture of this grasing giraffe !

Your new lens helped to get a very good result. Your have caught the very moment when this giraffe was in such an interesting attitude. Excellent composition, nice colors, bright light and perfect quality of the capture!
jcpix (13658) 2012-12-08 13:44
Very clever composition, and as a photographer you've created the semblance a tripod! This instantly caught my attention when I opened your page. Nice and sharp in detail with balanced light. Well done! Hope you have a great weekend.
mirosu (13710) 2012-12-08 21:49
Thank you for your previous comment. Allow me to clarify on the Singapore religions subject. Singapore was an English colony, so the Island has a strong Christian population. Today Buddhism is the most widely practiced religion in Singapore, with 33% of the resident population, the next most practiced religion is Christianity, followed by Islam, Taoism and Hinduism.
On the other side the wonderful Christmas decoration (as everywhere else on this planet) is very important for the business.
Now to your photo, I'd say excellent most creative motive. You have captured it in great way. Bravo.
krzychu30 (15498) 2012-12-09 1:11
this is really fabulous pic.A masterpiece of composition! The timing, the POV were perfect to immortalize this scene.Love the warm, soft colors and a little bit blurry background creating so lovely and pleasant mood.As I see your new lens work really well.
Wish You a nice sunday
Flavia (10352) 2012-12-09 1:42
Funny! Well chosem moment to catch this girrage in a interesting 'pose'! subject is well rendered and the shallow background helps
lousat (76754) 2012-12-09 3:05
Hi Danos,a very original and particular pic,the choice of point of view from the ground and the cut are the secrets of this very different capture, great optical effect and impressive quality as usual.Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano
Tigerlily (3107) 2012-12-09 3:23
Amazing and amusing shot! What's happened there? Very interesting... Have a nice Sunday.:-D
kato (11630) 2012-12-09 6:08
You're capturing well this giraffe by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the giraffe which extends a long leg and attaches the face to the ground. The bold photograph!
abmdsudi (43430) 2012-12-09 7:08
Seen close up from different perspective in excellent claroity in warm light, colors, textures lots of detail on main focal of interest. Fine shot and congrats. TFS
josepmarin (57789) 2012-12-09 12:00
after seeing the original photo, I think that you have had a great idea in this cropping, in order to create the effect that the giraffe only has three feet.
Your new lens works very well, and gives a high quality to the image.
A splendid work, my friend.
Afsanehbagheri (3228) 2012-12-10 3:27
Glint (6167) 2012-12-10 7:09
this is an amusing image and creative pov. I think I like the original just as much because the blue sky is so attractive.
marina7 (8055) 2012-12-10 8:27
funny shot. It looks like the giraffe uses its muzzle instead of the missing hind leg. Good focus on the animal, the colors are nice too.
Thanks and best regards
Robert1969 (7024) 2012-12-11 0:38
A funny picture. Good choice to cut above in the
picture, now you emphasize extra the subject
(the head and legs) Ofcourse this Giraffe has
four legs: below the mouth is fourth leg.
I like also the lower position...Well done.
clic (14880) 2012-12-11 6:13
Geia sou Danos
I see a huge quadripod used to support a giant bellow camera, as seen in books about
historic photographic material !!
Puzzeling view indeed created by a superimposed view of legs!
zoomer (6) 2012-12-11 12:29
Hi Danos, this is a most unique way of showing a giraffe. One can guess it's hight from this presentation very well by employing the imagination. The whole composition is very artful and to the point.Outstanding shot, great colors and sharpness, best wishes,Wolf.
siolaw (38276) 2012-12-12 22:38
Geia sou Danos,
The low POV and the crop gives impact and sense to the frame. Funny catch under good light. BG is not too helpful, but no problem, the subject catches the eye well!
amaryllis (34765) 2012-12-13 8:49
adores (36977) 2012-12-14 16:06
A really nice and original composition! I like the way you framed the girrafe, with very good focus! Well thought!
gus72 (3719) 2012-12-14 16:34
Hi Danos !!
the photo is very good .....but the crop is brilliant ..... it really tells a lot about the Giraffe predicament
and the panoramic format emphasises the composition.
Very smart work.
Have a nice week end.
UlfE (14641) 2012-12-15 3:10
Really great shot. This photo is unique. What a timing with this shot. I really enjoy the way the giraffe's two legs are pointing towards each of the bottom corners of the photo. The focus on the animal's nose a some small green leaves is also great. Gives us an idea of what is going on. TFS and have a nice weekend!
claudeD (32657) 2012-12-16 0:58
very fine and funny picture with an excellent title and a very good realization. I like shot very much.Very well done.TFS.
With regards from Luxembourg

Kalispera dear Danos
hahahah this is adorable! What a cutie. The tight framing is superb and you have created a very unique and artistic photo. Congratulations.
flatwin (2181) 2013-01-04 2:00
mkamionka (30612) 2013-01-05 22:50
great geometry, very well spotted. I like the perspective so close to the ground -it makes a feeling you are so small in comparison to the animal.
Very well done,
Angshu (55641) 2013-06-24 22:36
Good vantage point so that the giraffe appears only on three feet. Nice crop and framing to create this interesting composition. Well seen & taken!
Hanssie (10401) 2013-10-26 2:36
Ha, ha !
The right moment, this not just
a photo, this is Art:-))
NorthernLight (2279) 2013-11-05 4:28
hahaha - yes, this animal I know. This is a tripod giraffe. ;-)
A very nice clear picture, Danos. Above all, you have chosen a great moment!
