The Cathedral of Our Lady is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Antwerpen. Today's see of the Diocese of Antwerp was started in 1352 and, although the first stage of construction was ended in 1521, has never been 'completed'. In Gothic style, its architects were Jan and Pieter Appelmans. It contains a number of significant works by the Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens, as well as paintings by artists such as Otto van Veen, Jacob de Backer and Marten de Vos.
The cathedral is on the list of World Heritage Sites. More on: Wikipedia

Grande e brava .

Your new hobby is to visit and take pictures of the churches ceiling. In this one, we can admire the delicate work of the men after the conception of cathedral and think how difficult it have been to built them in these days.

Your "ceilings set" is a new and interesting departure, and shows us a different take on architecture. Beware of a stiff neck!

Witaj dear Malgorzata
This is a sensational shot, with incredible symmetry, shapes and colours. You have composed it exquisitely and handled the different levels of light exquisitely. What a pleasure to view. It's truly amazing, as have been your recent series of photos. Congratulations, this is spectacular.

Another good upward pov in this superb architectural shot. Good sharpness & excellent colour & saturation. The perspective & distortion have nee well managed. I like the diagonal lines starting & finishing in the 4 corners. The circular fresco makes a fine focal point at the vanishing point. Tfs!

ourania (50573) 2012-06-29 2:02
the architecture is exquisite and fascinating and your photo is a brilliant piece of art as well. I love the way you read the architecture and chose a wonderful, artistic and comprehensive point of view for your composition. Sharpness and depth are superb and contribute greatly to the wonderment this upward view evokes. The interaction of architectural elements and patterns, the smooth or bold play of light and tones all over the intriguing frame are really captivating. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good day,
Noel_Byrne (33422) 2012-07-30 5:38
What a beautiful, delicate piece of art and architecture. The upwards POV brings a wonderful element of height and the focal point of the painting is perfect.
