The icing on the cake of our visit to Granada was the super gardens of the Alhambra.
Alhambra ( /ælˈhæmbrə/; Spanish: [aˈlambɾa]; Arabic: الْحَمْرَاء, trans. al-Ḥamrā’; literally "the red one", feminine), the complete form of which was Calat Alhambra (الْقَلْعَةُ ٱلْحَمْرَاءُ, trans. al-Qal‘at al-Ḥamrā’, "the red fortress"), is a palace and fortress complex located in Granada, Andalusia, Spain. It was constructed during the mid 14th century by the Berber rulers of the Emirate of Granada in al-Andalus, occupying the top of the hill of the Assabica on the southeastern border of the city of Granada.

Hello Iain - I love looking around gardens, in this shot the blue flowers stand out as wonderful splashes of contrasting colour in a field of green. The cityscape and distant mountains make an attractive BG. A pleasant view and attractive colours. On my screen the shot is a little soft and I would try and sharpen the image a little in PP for a crisper look. Sounds as if you had a good holiday! Warm regards rosemary

this is a wonderful composition with the foreground full of colour and interest with the range of flowers and plants, while the distant landscape is equally interesting. the layers of mountains are fantastic. the setting for the town in the middle is wonderful. all the elements are placed perfectly to produce a lovely image.

Hello Iain ,
A beautiful view of the city (Albaicin ?) ,from the colrful garden , with the moutains in the BG , and an inteersting cloudy sky ; It is perfectly composed , but I wo,der if it would be better if you add a touch of sharpness after resizing .

nice the view of this Spring scenery with the colourful foreground to be the eye catching of the image,as lead-in the eyes on this part of Alhambra.
I like the brilliant light and the colour management making the image very inviting.
Have a good week,Danos

I hope you had a great holiday in Spain - it certainly looks as though you did if this lovely photograph is anything to go by!
Excellent composition and some wonderful colours in that beautiful garden in the foreground, an interesting town in the midground with some fine looking distant mountains. And all beneath a fabulous and characterful sky.
Perfect exposure too but, as Rosemary and Denis say, the picture does look a little soft - what do you think is the cause of that? I'm not so sure it's just a simple matter of requiring sharpening - what do you think, Iain? Otherwise, an excellent picture.

You were there in the best season to enjoy the beauty of the Generalife gardens.
The colourful flowers and plants are an excellent foreground for the great view of the Albaicín district. That part of the picture could be a bit sharper, I think.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Iain ,
pity it lacks a little sharpness to the image because the scenery is very beautiful and very pleasant colors.
