I took this picture yesterday near the Adıyaman.
you enjoy it.
have a great week ...
Central District (The city of Adıyaman): According to 1990 census the population of the central district of the province was 170,75 including bucaks and villages. However due to recent migration, mostly caused by the displaced villagers due to the Atatürk dam (part of Southeastern Anatolian project, called GAP), the population is estimated to be over 200,000. GAP has accelerated the economic activity of the city, especially in light industry. Adıyaman rapidly developed after becoming a province in 1954. Although it is now a fairly modern city, the major activity in the central district still remains to be farming and animal husbandry. Atatürk dam, 25 miles from the central city, combined with the deep historical roots of the region has made tourism an important activity for the city. Pirin caves and rock tombs are important historical sites in the central region.
Formerly HÜSNÜMANSUR, Arabic HISN MANSUR, city located in a valley of southeastern Turkey. Founded in the 8th century by the Umayyad Arabs near the site of ancient Perre, Hisn Mansur was later fortified by Caliph Harun ar-Rashid and became the chief town of the area, replacing Perre. Ruled successively by the Byzantines, Seljuq Turks, and the Turkmen Dulkadir dynasty after the Arabs, it was incorporated into the Ottoman Empire near the end of the 14th century. Under the Turkish republic, it was renamed Adiyaman in 1926. The ruins of Perre are just to the north. The city is a local market for the agricultural products of the area.
The region around Adiyaman contains mountains and plateaus drained by the Euphrates River and its tributaries. Products include cereals, cotton, tobacco, pistachio nuts, and grapes. Pop. (1990) 100,045.
Adiyaman is one of the oldest settlements in history, dating back to 40 th century B.C. Historical findings indicate that between 7.000 and 3000 B.C. Paleolithic, Neolithic and Chalcolithic Ages reigned in the area. It has been the host of many civilizations, including Hittite, Persian Kommagene, Roman and Byzantine. Founded at its present place, in thie 7 th century by the Ummayyads, Adiyaman later housed several empires and states, including Anatolian Seljuks and finally the Ottomans. In the republican era, Adiyaman had been a district of Malatya province until 1954. At that time it was given the status of province.

Merhaba Burak Abi,

Bonjour, mon ami Burak,
tcht (7565) 2006-09-04 4:12
I like your composition of two roads + two trees, and they're in a nice symmetry. Good vertical format to illustrate depth. But I am not so sure with your low PoV, as I find the grass a tiny bit distracting and I am not able to focus 100% on the road and trees compo. Overall a very pretty shot and thanks for the info.
ChrisJ (94842) 2006-09-04 4:12
I like the symmetry of the 2 trees with the 2 strips of visible road. The 's' curves are wonderful, & add good depth. Tfs!

Another title could be endless road. Really nice the effect that this sinuous road causes on the photo, going up and down thru the hills, just like a snake. The mautral colours and the light of the photo along with this very nice view result in a very nice composition.
Scharan (14144) 2006-09-05 19:34

Angshu (54921) 2006-09-06 3:38
How much simpler can a caption be? How simple a compo but so intriguing...the serpentine road weving it's way amidst the yello fascinates me. The trees do provide an idea of the scale & shows how vast the landscape is
kermit350 (9016) 2006-09-06 4:07
Hello Burak, je ne sais pas ou tu as trouvé cet endroit mais sil nexistait pas il faudrait linventé, cette image est très très originale, je trouve qu'il y a du mouvement dans ton image grâce aux ondulations du terrain, la route ressemble à un petit serpent argenté, le contraste des couleurs est magnifique, bien amicalement...............................Hello Burak, I do not know or you found this place but s`il did not n`existait it would be necessary l`inventé, this image is very very original, I find that there is movement in your image thanks to the undulations of the ground, the road resembles a small silver plated snake, the contrast of the colors is splendid, sincerely

nwoehnl (122) 2006-09-09 7:58
Hi Burak. I had missed this one but now I found it ;) One of your best so far, I think - a fine choice of the vertical format, a great impression of depth well supported by the meandering road that leads the viewer's eye towards the background. Also a vivid color contrast with the various tonalities and textures found in this undulating landscape. Nice shot.
anesugur (18789) 2006-09-09 16:39

pranab (5354) 2006-09-10 3:27
this reminds me of my drive through vast landscape of montana. very well composed and captured. the meandering road through this barren land like a serpent stands out and gives us the feeling of depth in this composition.

Well done !
Henryk_Bilor (20799) 2006-09-15 13:21
Beauutiful perspective of this road leading to the distant, hardly visible mountains. Great
capture and colours.
sebcz (2345) 2006-09-16 4:41
A very original POV. Almost classic composition 2/3, this winding road is beautiful. I like the way you shot it, from the ground, it gives some more feeling of the depth.
jujudum (192) 2006-09-17 22:27
Wow what a wonderful image ... I'm breathless by the composition, colors, lines and the many details you can find in this simple picture.Difference and presence of foreground and background are just great !! Electrical structure and the two littles trees add a lot of interest. I could easily take more than few minutes just looking to a photo like this one. Really deep photo ... and fascinating landscape. Thank you a lot to share your talent.

celinaconroy (717) 2006-09-23 2:01
The hills that brake up the symmetery of the road and the general layering of contrasting colours and focal points makes a very fascinating image as the eye follows the road to the next interesting part of the landscape.

This is so attractive good photograh, so it's interesting and impressive to see a rolling plain and a winding road. Two trees are arranged across the road in the exquisite position. And, it's harmonized and balanced well naturally for color contrast between the plain, the low mountain in behind and blue sky.
Have a nice day.

Merhaba Burak Bey

I didn't see this photo before, but it's a fine shot of the very typical scenery of eastern Anatolia. You found a perfect POV showing the road winding through the "endless" landscape. It reminds me strongly of long journeys by bus or train in the 1970's. It also gives me a pleasure to add 2 points to this photo, giving it a total of 200 :-).
