Colourful Mexico Photo

Photographer’s Note

I will come back to my US trip later… let’s go to Mexico where I spent a very short stay in the Yucatan peninsula, a beautiful touristic region, where you can find paradise beaches with white sand and numerous palm trees, … hmmm… I could not see them, I will have to go back !

October is in the middle of the rainy season in Mexico.
It means that I experienced a very hot and humid weather: 35 Celsius degrees, 80% humidity.

The first thing that caught my attention when I arrived in Mexico is the fact that you find beautiful colours everywhere, even under a very grey sky.

Here, I show you a little exposition of coloured chimes, saw at the entrance of Chichen Itza, the beautiful Maya city.
When you arrive there, you don’t see the main temples immediately. You take your time, to become impregnated with this incredible culture…

All the way long, you will meet numerous sellers, most of them selling touristic souvenirs which seems to be ‘made in China’, for 5 or 10 dollars.
But if you are patient and have a look at these sellers, you will notice that a few of them are descendant of the Mayab people. These ones will only sell hand made artworks.
They will hardly look at you and will never follow you to try to convince you to buy something ;-)

What a nice story and most of all, it is so true. I have seen this myself many times in different countries. The real craftsmen are not standing in line to attack you, they sit still and quiet in the back.
Your picture, funny, and indeed very colourful. Typical small stuff souvenirs to bring home with. Nice to see all those colours hanging in the air...nice.

Très sympas ces carillons ! Ils crient "aribaaaa" quand tu les frôles non ? Lol.
Les couleurs sont vives, très harmonieuses, et il y en a pour tous les goûts au moins. Ma préférence va vers le turquoise ou le orange tout au bout, j'hésite ;o)
Très belle gestion de ton arrière-plan et un cadrage bien pensé sur cette drôle de brochette.
Original et amusant, et le tout accompagné d'une note complète. Merci.

Ces couleurs égayent toute la composition. J'aime cette présentation qui est très artistique. Tu ne nous dis pas si c'est une production locale mais on peut bien le penser.

aha, c'est coloré en effet, meme que souvent, les couleurs ressortent bien quand il fait couvert, on peu mieux jouer avec la saturation. Je suppose aussi que la branche est courbe, ton objectif de déforme pas comme cela (ouh, c'est limite méchant!)
bon bref, belles couleurs, sujet coloré et amusant!

Very simple but very beautiful and catchy shot. The colors of those doll really opened up this shot. Those multicolor really worked like a charm for this photograph. You have successfully captured and brought the color out of it.

This is just co cute, I love it. So colorful and charming, full of Mexican flavor and atmosphere. So nice and sharp all this little colorful souverniers, against the darker background. Very cheerful image. Thanks. Though fairly close, a few hours drive, I can be in Mexico, but I have not yet make it down there. I will soo.

Great capture of that Mexican atmosphere at Chichen Itza! The colours are very nice. It is so typical...

POur l'oeil pas exerce il doit etre plutot difficile de faire la difference entre les chinas et les mayas, ceci dit ils sont mignons ces petits personnages colores, ca fait un joli mobile.

Salut toi,
une petite marietomade, c'est tout simple comme sujet mais encore faut-il penser à la photographier quand on passe à côté.
Une grande diversité de couleurs bien servie pas de bonnes lumières.
