Mexican handicraft, this particular piece (a woman skull fancy dressed) is from the small town of Capula in Michoacan. It is made of clay and painted and are hard to find outside Michoacan state.

pixelated. overexposed especially on white areas. seems perhaps tilted. subject is interesting, and the background is not cluttered which is good. i appreciate the good explanation, i just don't think the photography was successful.

she is absoloutly gorgeous... it has something to do with the death festival no? looks exactly like the GRIM FANDANGO game figures.
I hope you bought it as well :) I would have.
now for the shot - I am not really into flash indoors, but sometimes there is no other choice. I would have loved to see this shot in sunset light - a natural one. I think the flash makes it look a bit cheap because of the many 'bright' areas. but beside that, its very nice. well framed and pose is wonderful.

Technically you could have done better: the face is a bit too over exposed...
