Photographer’s Note

This is the second in a series of shots about the Laguna de Sayula in Jalisco, Mexico. I posted the first image two days ago and have a few more to go.

For this photo, I'm facing south, with the sun rising to my left. In the foreground are grasses and vegetation that form part of a wetlands ecosystem. Most of this year this lakebed is dry, but occasionally in the summer and other rainy times, enough water accumulates here.

In the distant background is the peak of the Nevado de Colima, not an active volcano in recent memory -- although its neighboring twin, not visible in this shot, is Mexico's most active volcano.

There's a blog (in Spanish) where people exchange information on climbing this peak.

I've also posted a black-and-white version of this shot on my TL site. I would love to hear your thoughts on either version.

What I really want to do with this image is add a black border around it, but I lack the PP tools for this. If anyone wishes to take a shot at it, you're more than welcome!

Also, this one's for Signore Ferraris, who loves open spaces.
