While in Cuernevaca, we ate at Las Mananitas restaurant. The outdoor patio is lush ad gorgeous. Peacoks roam free and parrots watch us while we eat. This particular peacock was marking his territory and paraded around for a long time like this, shaking every now and then.

I wanted to sharpen the blues and greens in photoshop, but I'm still figuring out my program, any advice?

Hi Talia,

I love how you have placed him in the frame .. not worrying about the plume edges and just dominating the whole frame with plumes works really well .. I think the workshop that has been done is great .. adding contrast (brightness/contrast), saturation (hue/saturation), and the unsharpen mask filter [USM] from filters .. especially once you zap it down to 800 pixels ..

take care,

John

Hi Talia,

This is a lovely shot - these birds are such a remarkable work of nature! I think you were right to go in close like this - it makes the picture really striking.

I tried a workshop to improve levels and sharpness, to make the colours stand out more, hope you like it?

Quite an unusual angle for a bird shot... I like the beautiful colours and the general layout.
