Photographer’s Note
Repost Note:
I took three similar shots as soon as we arrived: the first one with narrow DOF focusing on sand ripples; the second one (the one posted) with narrow DOF focusing on people; and the last one with wider DOF focusing on people. I didn't like the first one because I want focus on people and their dog. I missed the dog on the last one. I decided to post the second shot (original post) because of a man, a woman and their dog.
I didn't like the big area of sand on the bottom of the original photo but decided to leave it alone. When Stephen mentioned it, I totally agreed with him and decided to take his advice. Here it is.

Original Note:
Puerto Peñasco is beautiful but August is its low season for a reason. It is extremely hot and very humid. My lenses, camera's reflective mirror, viewfinder and possibly digital sensor constantly fogged up. My photographic opportunity was limited to early Mornings and late Afternoons. The rest of the time, I soaked myself up in a 90 degree natural jacuzzi - Sea of Cortez.
Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, also known as Rocky Point, is a former fishing village and located along the northeastern shore of the Sea of Cortez or the Gulf of California. The city of Puerto Peñasco has some of the very best beaches and the water is warm and clear. Personally, the large tide especially during a full moon is part of its charm.
Visit puerto-penasco.com for more information especially the "What else to know when in Mexico" section.
There are many accommodation options from beachfront home rentals to R.V. Parks.
The photos below were taken when we arrived at 3 pm. The tide was on its way down. The purplish reflections on water ripples were breath-taking.

Hi Nap
Ah yes, Puerto Penasco in August!! You've captured a real sense of glittering heat; it almost feels like being there. I like the framing with the waves in the sand in the foreground and the shimmering waer; the three figures on the spit really make the shot. The man and the dog look exhausted, the woman looks like she's taking a picture too.

Hi Nap,
this is nice, the sharp reflections of the sun light are really making a job here. I like that because it changing totally the look and the feeling of the picture, one could even thought that this is ice. But I like also the sandy beach with some water to reflect the sky. Wonderful!
Have a nice day,
Tomi

hi Nap
the light is great on this beach. The composition is well managed with the people walking close to the sea.
Beautifull.

Hi Nap. Wonderful summer image. The texture of the sand and the water are great but it is the couple and their dog that really grab your attention and it is right that you should focus on them. Well captured and thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

This is a terrific photo, I definitely prefer it over the original! Amazing what a little framing will do.
