Lovers' Beach Photo

Photographer’s Note

This was taken on the Gulf of California side of "Lovers Beach" at lands end of Cabo San Lucas. On the other end of this beach is the Pacific Ocean. On the Pacific Ocean side, it is all beach between the mountains and the sea. The Gulf of California side is more for snorkeling, fishing, and hardly any beach. You can only access this place by boat. It was still early and the canoes for rent are still unaccounted for. The sun is on the other side of this beach but there are still people swimming on this shaded part of the beach. Maybe they are avoiding the big waves of the Pacific Ocean. The light here is eerie looking just like the two photographs of the rock mountains I posted.

PP Work: Adjust levels control; Adjust saturation; Sharpen; Remove noise; Applied dark blue gradient filter on sky; Crop; Frame; Reduce size for posting.

Hi Andre, this is a strange picture. As you say: the light is eerie and the colour of the skin of the people looks eerie too... The light gives the picture a spooky and surrealistic appearance. I like your low PoV from the water. I have the feeling we are looking throught the hungry eyes of a shark...! Enjoy your weekend.

Hello,
From your many excellent pictures I've chosen this one to critique because of its surreal effect. Firstly there is the impression of a painted theatre backcloth, in fact, it feels like a stage set. The right hand side looks like something from the 70's period Star Trek.
A wonderful photograph that almost defies analysis.
