Photographer’s Note
As I've already mentioned in previous photos, Mexico is the country for deserts and giant cactuses.
This is not a cactus, but a Joshua tree, typical from desert areas. I love the way it grows with lots of branches in every directions. In between the branches, in the centre, you can see the 3 Virgenes volcano (I think...).
The desert here is just beautiful. Besides the incredible vegetation the most striking thing here is the profound and utter silence.
Although the environment is extremely harsh here, and you wonder how anything can grow and thrive in those conditions, the desert is teeming with life.
This was taken, very early in the morning, while I was driving from San Ignacio to Santa Rosalia. I parked the car on the side of the road and went for a 1 hour walk into the desert, heading towards the volcano having care to keep track of a few reference points. As I said before, it is very, very easy to get lost here! Which I did...but not this time.

Bom trabalho meu amigo! Abraço, Gabriel

Hi Ricardo.
Nice close up!!! The cactus with the desert behind it it is lovely.
In my opinion, only needs a little more definition but in any case it is a great picture.

Interesting these special cacti...
Even if you had not the best weather to catch this one there is a good situation with the montain we see and the low POV tht is offering a nice idea of their size.
I like it

Nice use of the pano format for this photo of the Joshua Tree, Ricardo. Good rendering of the details and textures, and also a nice framing exercise with the glance towards the distant mountain in the center.

A great natural history piece. The photo conveys the wild life well and the cactuses are well composed in the frame. Good stuff.

Bonjour mon Amir Ricardo,
Nous sommes loin des plantes d'appartement ! Il existe tellement de variétés de Yucca !
Yucca brevifolia Engelm.: (Joshua tree) H 10m
Yucca flaccida Haworth, H 0.6m Z7
Yucca recurvifolia Salisbury : H 2.5m Z7
Yucca rostrata Engelmann ex Trelease : H 4m Z8
Yucca whipplei Torrey

Ola Ricardo,
i remember songs from U2 album called Joshua Tree that I have listened to so much without ever thinking about what this tree must look like in reality .. ha ha
and finally you have shown me what this tree looks like .... thanks for this man ... and what a nice capture it is ... these trees look like humans and the mountains peeking besides these trees are good additon
tfs .. regards ... sarju
PS: I think I am going to check the meaning of Achtung baby (another U2 album) ... I think Achtung is German for "be careful" or something

Hej Ricardo,
Good shot of this tree, that looks quite special and not really like a tree for me, being someone who only has seen Northern European trees. ;-)
You put them nicely in the composition. Well done and thanks for sharing!

Elias

Ricardo,
Essa antiga tinha me passado.
