Photographer’s Note

Guanajuato is a UNESCO world heritage site. It’s a university town a little bit north of Mexico City. It is nested in the middle of some very steep hills, so if you are in a high point you always see this kind of view with the houses almost standing on top of each other. As with every town in Mexico, most of the houses are painted with bright and varied colours. The setting of this town, along with its colours makes it look like it is made out of LEGO, every house a LEGO brick.

In some streets, it is as if every new house owner looks at the rest of the street and thinks: “Let me see which colour is still missing, so I can choose the colour for my house”.

Olá Ricardo,
O titulo está mesmo a dizer porque na realidade esta foto faz transparecer uma cidade que até parece ter sido com peças da "Lego". Muitas cores disponíveis ou não mas aqui em stock ;-)))

Muito grafismo, bom enquadramento e detalhes não faltam. Bem visto e capturado e os meus parabéns.

PS: Eu gosto muito dos Açores e só os conheço há dois anos e meio. Sou natural de Espinho que é uma terra do mar, surf, gastronomia de pescado e praia. Não tenho barcos mas o mar está-me na alma bem como na fotografia como aguns criticos de renome no TE o indicam.

Hola Ricardo.

Nice, very nice composition. It's a pity the noise. Has you add saturation? Perhaps that's could be the reason. Also I would add a bite of sharpness.

Anyway, the idea and the photo is lovely and plenty of colour.

La idea esta bien, pero le falta un poco de algo a la foto. Por un lado me parece algo sobreexpuesta, por otro lado le falta algun punto de focalisacion, no hay nada en la vista que sobresalga del resto de la imagen por lo que el ojo se pierde un poco en la foto.

Une ville faite de legos ou un nuancier (ensemble d’échantillons de couleurs qu’on présente à la clientèle). J'aime ces taches de couleur et ces maisons cubiques parées ici et là de conifères.
Très bon cadrage.

Hello Ricardo, this is an incredible shot of this fascinating town. It is so colourful and so jumbled too. It looks like the lego bricks were just emptied out of a big box and landed in a pile on the hillside. I did not know about Guanajuato before, so thanks very much for posting this.

Hi Ricardo, this accumulation and comparison with a Lego is excellent.
I like the Patchwork here, and also a good framing that keeps a part of the town homogeneistic in a readable picture.
May be a bit exposed, but not dramatic, the place need to be seen.

I found the workshop quite interesting, but the sharpness did not improve; think should be done on the original!

Incredible photo ... I feel that there is so much of energy over here that it is going to explode or something .... lols.
technically this photo is not that good ... but the mood and scene that you have captured is incredible .. and that is what matters to me much more than the technicalities

O título não poderia ter sido melhor escolhido. Que saudades das construções com peças que animavam a minha infância... A foto está excelente, visualmente muito forte. Este parece ser de facto um local muito interessante de visitar. As cores e amontoado de casas devem de conter cenas muito interessantes e pitorescas nas suas ruas, embora provavelmente difíceis de fotografar devido à pouca luz.

Quanto a questões técnicas (li a mensagem par a o Sarju) posso dizer que podes tentar o melhor dos dois mundos, isto é, colocar uma imagem artisticamente interessante e ao mesmo tempo “informativa”. Neste caso o WS feito é muito interessante e definitivamente chama bastante a atenção para a foto e para o local e veria-o facilmente como a imagem principal. No entanto aquilo que traz de belo e artístico pode de certa forma “comprometer” o enquadramento do local e a compreensão de onde ele se insere. Para ultrapassar isto tens sempre a hipótese de colocar a imagem original, ou outra, no WS e dares indicação disso na nota.

Assim apresentas uma imagem apelativa que chama a atenção, e numa segunda fase disponibilizas mais informação para os interessados.

Quanto à nitidez da imagem, e devido ao scan, aplicando uma ferramenta de redução de ruído e depois um pouco de sharp tornaria-a muito mais nítida e com os detalhes melhor definidos.
