Photographer’s Note
Portraits are not very easy in Latin America, and people get angry, they gesture with their hands, and in some places like San Juan Chamula, in Chiapas State
photographers can really get into trouble. But there are some exceptions. This Maya girl was even happy, because I was lucky to find her working on her loom, before her husband showed up. He chased me as soon as he spotted my presence. The colors of the rug around her face are out of focus on purpose because I used a long focal with a wide aperture.

Hello Izet,
Very nice picture. I like a lot the expression of the woman. It'a a real moment of life that you succeed in capturing.
It's true that it is very difficult to catch moment of life. I have tried in Greece to catch an old man but he doesn't want to be photographed. Good job

Magnifique portrait volé.
Il est vrai que dans le Chiapas il n'est pas facile de photographier les gens.
C'est d'autant plus intéressant.

Exceptionally fine photo! Wonderful captured moment just as the girl is biting the thread and you can see the smile in her eyes. Great photo. Cheers, Herbert

merhaba izzet, i love this one - nearly candid, yet not, nearly focused on the model, yet the "frame" seems to be so important, a very very nice portrait, colourful, joyful, very nice;

Superbe portrait Izzet, j'aime beaucoup ce rose flou qui encadre ce visage de cette jeune fille tres net. meme si elle cache sa bouche, son sourire se lit dans ses yeux.

Selamlar Usta,
Harika bir portre olmus, bir anda bana C.Renault'un "Babu" adlı resmini hatırlattı..
(aynı soft önplan belki..) Bu teknigi pek kullanmıyorum ben, her defasında kendime hatırlatmama rağmen (yaslı monk resminizi de hatırladım simdi bir anda, su mingun queen'di galiba..)
Kızın mahcup nefis bir gülüsünü yakalamıssınız,,
Selam ve sevgiler, hürmetler.. Evren

Impressive capture.
True - not easy to take pictures of people especially indiginous.
The composition is just perfect with the soft and bright colors all around.
Good work - Shir

Izzet: just found this one. I was planning perhaps some travel to Chiapas and browsing the TE archives. Great 'foreground bokeh' - a veritable explosion of saturation here. Another fine, and older piece of film from you. best, c
