Photographer’s Note

From Cancun everybody knows the road leading to Merida and bypassing Chichen Itza. But few people make a detour to visit Izamal. I must admit though that I have already seen a few pictures of this extraordinary place in TE. This old lady l, probably a direct descendent of Mayas was sitting at the entrance of an old building. She agreed to have her picture taken, but she was dreamy all the time, as if she was in close contact with another world.

un joli portrait, dommage pour l'arriere plan qui ne permet pas de faire ressortir la tête, mais le piqué et la richesse des details donnent du relief à ta photo.

Beautiful shot, Izzet, and I love how the creamy, slightly textured background helps bring her into sharper relief. That expression is timeless; she seems unconcerned with the petty affairs of the world.

I would have given this photo a more descriptive name, btw, like "Mayan Serenity" or "Dream of the Maya."

An excellent portrait with fine details even to her skin never too harsh, I think a slight crop from top was even possible here.
