Equestrian statue known as El Caballito (The Little Horse), cast in 1803 by the architect and sculptor Manuel Tolsa, during the Mexican colonial period. It represents the king Carlos IV of Spain. In those years the name of Mexico was Virreinato de la Nueva Espaņa (Vice Kingdom of New Spain).
After the Independence, in 1821, the new government decided to keep it as a work of art, not as a tribute to a monarch.

This monument is absolutely amazing and I can imagine why you have decided to take this image. Well seen and done from a low POV. The building on the right and cristal blue sky were a great background for the scene to make it more attractive. Like it, TFS.

As Gosia says, this is a magnificent statue, and the point of view, anglew and light all allow such beautiful detail to be captured. It looks stunning presented against both the blue sky and that fine looking building behind.
