Photographer's Note

There are two Chaac masks that decorate the front of the chamber, located about 13 metres apart and above the dados that support the lower staircase. Each is supported on its sides by two columns. This particular mask (to the east) is missing its pupils, and is distinctive in an interesting way. There is an image of a fierce-looking creature above and below the eye cavity. Moreover the nose is turned upward as opposed to downward. The teeth have also not received attention from a competent dentist. :-)
