Photographer's Note

The western and southern sides of the Ah Dzib group are dominated by the Castle. This is presumed to be the residential area for the Úlites and from which administrative and ceremonial functions were performed. Moreover, the south end affords a view the short distance north to the ball court. Ah Dzib dates from the pre-classic era, i.e. 300 BCE to 250 CE.
