Photographer's Note

Of the churches I visited in Mérida, this, of St. John the Baptist, felt the most comforting and warm. It may have been due to the light originating from the open doorways near the front of the nave, or the 7 robust arches supporting the roof, or the wood altarpiece in neo-gothic style brought from Valencia, Spain in 1905. "In my Father's House, there are many mansions..."
