Photographer's Note

The temple atop the Castillo dominates the Great Plaza at Chichén Itzá. From the northwest, the Ball Court, with its numerous features, reminds visitors of more sombre matters. The slopes at its base, this is the eastern, feature panels decorated with ball-player/warriors in procession, the whole topped with a serpent, its jaw agape.
