Photographer’s Note
100 posts. It's hard to believe. I've taken too many pictures in the last couple years. :)
My wife and I went to Mexico with her family the day after we took our final section (hopefully) of the CPA exam. Between long hours at work and studying for the CPA in our "spare time," we really needed a break. Mexico was perfect.
This was taken at sunrise on some exposed rocks on the shoreline. The Caribbean is known for its white sand beaches, and we certainly saw plenty of those, but for photographic purposes I preferred this little rocky beach.
Now that I think I'm done with the CPA exam, I should have a bit more time to participate on TE, so I hope to post a lot more pictures from my Mexico and Canada trips in the future.
I used a 2-stop hard grad and a 1-stop soft grad in addition to the polarizer on this shot.

...and definately a photo proper for this ocasion. Outstanding colours and staggering sharpness. I simply have to love it! Wonderful. What impresses me the most, are the two completely different halfs, from what the colours concerns.

Hi Clark,
congratulations for the important milestone and even more congratulations for the choice to celebrate with this great picture. I'm amazed by the beauty of the sky with those fat fluffy clouds sunkissed by the first light of the day (never experienced something even closer to this) but what I like the most is the beauty of the colours, very soft and natural to create a great mood. A quality picture indeed, very well presented and composed. I like it a lot. Thanks for sharing it.
Regards,
Igor

Hi Clarck,
Welcome back, hope you had a great time and also congrats on your #100.
An almost surreal shot with those clouds above. Complete different light then the lower section, probably enhanced by those filters. The 2 sec gave you an alsmost slik blanket on the water, an effect that i like a lot in such images...very nice work.

Congratulations for your 100th post!
I really like this one. Specially how the rock formations matches the shape of the cloud formation. The light is very special. Very good indeed.

Bonjour,

Clark,
Fantastic use of the cloud bank which, almost literally, lights up this shot and its sparse, prehistoric, shoreline. Great stuff.
To have to enlighten me as to what the CPA is? I've no idea!

I'm loving the soft pastel colors and soft light nicely balanced with your use of grad filters. Compo is elegant and the clouds are like a painting. That pink highlight is amazing. Great shot Clark. Oh and congrats on 100!
