2012 would be end of world according to Maya calendar. But we were all “survived”. Two years ago, we visited the most famous Mayan Ruins of Chichen Itza. This time was another site in Tulum.
By A.D. 900, the end of the Classic period, Maya civilization had begun its decline, and the large cities to the south were abandoned. Tulum is one of the small city-states that rose to fill the void. It came to prominence in the 13th century as a seaport, controlling maritime commerce along this section of the coast, and remained inhabited well after the arrival of the Spanish. (Online source)

I love the compo of this fascinating ancient structure and the rustic aged textures, a feast to the yes no doubt with this neat capture creating a stark contrast and perfect match to blue background. You chose the best view point to emphasize its strength, the depth and perspective really well, full of detail in the stonework. An interesting archeological site so competently taken under brilliant weather condition. Congrats and tfs

Ciao e buon fine settimana

A pin sharp picture of these ruins. Very well composed and an attractive foreground with the corner of the old wall and the stairs.
The tropical plants and the palmtrees complete this very beautiful and luminous picture.
Best regards, Paul
