I continued the walk south, continuing up the steps toward the bluff that overlooks the beach at Tulum. Beyond the arch that furnishes access to the Ceremonial Centre looking north, past the Temple of the Initial Series to the immediate right and then the staircase up to the Castle, I could see in bold outline the Temple of the Descending God.
Let us assume the architect intended that the roof slope downwards to the west (Temple of the Descending Roof?). Let us assume the architect intended the walls to lean inward from top to bottom. Or, let us assume, management had hired that notorious outfit to build it - Shoddy Construction Ltd. :-) Let us enjoy!
