It is a 140 metres walk northwest from the Paintings Group then a right turn and another 225 metres northeast to reach the second component of Group D - the Ball Court #2. This structure (of two sections) carries with it far more ominous overtones - of death. Both ball courts (including that of the Coba Group) share common features, namely panels with semi-kneeling captives, their hands tied at the wrists, and a ring on each section. Court #2 is oriented on a northeast and southwest axis. This photograph presents the set of steps leading to the top of the north section, affording a great view of the action.
