Photographer’s Note
We just planned on spending one night in Chetumal before driving into Belize, but we arrived and found that their Carnival celebration was in full swing. Who can resist Carnival? Not us. We decide to stay for an extra night. We ended up staying there for four nights!- Not because of Carnival but because there was a complication with our tourist cards (we had to jump through a bunch of hoops and pay a $50 US fine). Luckily the celebrations going on every night let us forget there were and troubles.
