Photographer's Note

This is one of the four sculptured, fierce-looking serpent tenons that appear on the lateral slopes of the Ball Court. These four occupy the two centre and two south-end positions. The serpents, as depicted, are not the feathered or plumed serpents representative of Quetzalcoatl at Cholula or Kukulkan at Chichen Itza.
