Photographer’s Note
Part of the lobby of the Dreams Resort & Spa in Nuevo Vallarta on Mexico's Pacific coast. I attended a conference here as a photographer. Having lived in Mexico for many years I can't imagine staying in a place like this. There is absolutely nothing Mexican in the ambience, decor or even the food. The place was full of non-Spanish speaking tourists in shorts, t-shirts and baseball caps and many women with enhanced bustlines. I guess if all you want is warm weather, a swimming pool and cable TV, this is the place for you (at $250/night). It's a far cry from my modest casita in a small village up the coast where the locals don't speak English.

Hi Dave,
the note you wrote is very usefull: the picture is wery well done, but, as you write, there is not at all relation with the nice mexican atmosphere: the lobby of this hote could be everywere: is the globalization effect.
Nice week end

Hi Dave,
Nice daily life shot and very useful note. I agree that there is nothing Mexican about it and this is what you experience many times in hotel lobbies conference centers. Everything looks the same and you could be anywhere in the world. TFS and have a nice day!
Cheers,
Ulf
