Photographer's Note

Monarch butterflies have an incredible natural history. Each year thousands of monarchs migrate from Canada and the US to their wintering grounds in Michoacan, Mexico. The forests where they spend their time are threatened by illegal logging and the monarch habitat is decreasing. If you live in the US or Canada, do these amazing creatures a favor and plant some milkweed. Learn more at http://worldwildlife.org/monarchs/.
