I was photographing (a rather unspectacular) sunset on the beach in Puerto Vallarta when I looked the other way over my shoulder and saw these three pelicans flying formation in the general direction of the nearly full moon (just a couple of days before the eclipse), and I wondered if they'd fly close enough to share a frame with it--and did they ever!

It looks to me like the moon has joined them in flying their formation... :-)

I liked this compo, the pov and the colors, the way birds are put with the moon are fantastic. It is sad sharpness isn't good
