Photographer's Note
Oaxaca is the capital and largest city of the Mexican state of the same name. The city relies heavily on tourism, which is based on its large number of colonial-era structures as well as the native Zapotec and Mixtec cultures and archeological sites. Along with the archeological site of Monte Alban, it was named a World Heritage Site in 1987.

The Church and former monastery of Santo Domingo de Guzmán is a baroque ecclesiastical building complex. It includes a substantial sanctuary and an extensive system of courtyards, cloisters and rooms that formerly constituted the monastery.
The rooms that formerly constituted the monastery now house the Cultural Centre of Oaxaca. This museum includes an important collection of pre-Columban artefacts.

Helo Benny,
You're capturing well this historical architecture and it's courtyard by a good composition and excellent tone, so it's impressive and interesting to see this elegant building of colonial age. It looks symmetrical and stately building with settled color. The whole is unified by beautiful color tone, I think.

Hi Benny.
That's an impressive and rather baroque looking church, and an equally impressive photo with a dramatic touch in the sky. I like the slight diagonal made by the steps and roadside, and I think it was a good idea to include the passers-by. The light looks very natural and I really like the way you have presented this in a simple frame. I rate this a very good architectural photo.

Andrew

Hi Benny,
The sandy colour building stands out well against this melancholic grey sky.
Good inclusion of the walking duo, perfectly aligned with one of the bell tower. Sharpness is impeccable despite the wide aperture, at least at TrekEarth size.
Cheers!

a very nice view from a famous city due to the teachers' protest in 2006. It was a case that inspired me and many others but as usual it was a case that the local and international media channels tried to "burried" it !
thanks for getting back such memories in such difficult times in Greece - we need the inspiration !
be good
