[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There are many shops in Mexico that sell beautiful iron sculptures. This particular shop they had many life-sized (or larger) animals. This is the face of a gorilla (which was about 6 feet tall). They also had giraffes, mustangs, elephants...

"He's got arms like legs
He's got hands on his feet
He's got a nose like a doughnut
He's got a tendency to over eat
He don't use tools or weapons
He don't eat meat
He likes to stick to the bushes
Tends to avoid the street

Now most of y'all
Have seen a gorilla
In a cage at the local zoo
He mostly sits around contemplating
All the things that he'd prefer to do
He dreams about the world outside
From behind those bars of steel
And no one seems to understand
About the heartache the man can feel

The people stop and stare
But nobody seems to care
It don't seem right somehow
It just don't seem fair
He's still a gorilla"
-"Gorilla", James Taylor

Great texture on this. Tones are good. And hey it actually does still look like a gorilla! An interesting pic.

Very interesting
B. & W.

I remember the silver and copper sculptures but not iron... This one is really nice and the B&W is great here. Well done, Jennifer!

It's excellent contrast. I just don't care for the frame. I would rather see this image end at its own borders, which would allow it to remain fully abstract, rather than declaring that this is a photo. Other than that, nice light work, terrific texture.

A wonderfully strange 'portrait'! your use of black and white is comendable, and suits the high contast of the scene very well, picking out the lovely texture of the material very well.

more revealing as a thumbnail. nice composition from a keen observant. like the sharpness.
