I know I have a few better, more artistic pictures for rush hour, but I thought this was funny. You know you're stuck in traffic when there's an ice cream man pushing his cart between the lanes!

This was the line of cars coming back over the U.S.-Mexico border on Monday, after the 4th of July holiday weekend. We were in line for several hours. I was very unhappy that this ice cream man was walking away, I wanted a coconut ice cream! I eventually found another man, and it was very tasty!

"Sonoran Hope & Madness" is a song by Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers that celebrates the wonderful Sonoran desert that we live in. I chose this title because I was hoping to get my coconut ice cream and I was going mad without it! But seriously...back to the beautiful but abused Sonoran desert, a quote from the song:

"Let her burn you, Let her bleach you, Let her lead you so very far away no-one can reach you!"

Here, I wonder if it is the same Border I crossed ( see WS) because I cannot find Sonoyta on a map...

Anyway, a very good and well framed shot and for me, I prefer lemon ice cream...;)
Also, with that picture, I want to listen the song...;)

I like it a lot. The way you cropped hard on all sides and then the line on the road leading the eye the interest is very focused on the man and his cart. I think B&W was a good choice, I guess the original is a bit too colorful.

Very good one, Jennifer - an unusual scene (well at least by Central European standards :o), very creatively cropped. The slim cropping actually enhances the feeling of perspective and depth a lot, providing good focus on the ice cream guy and showing just half of those monstrous trucks on either lane. Looks cool in b&w. Good shot - glad you finally got your ice cream, and thanks for providing yet another Peacemakers tune for the theme.

A great one Jennifer! I like B&W-pics a lot and this one is funny aswell as a bit strange/scary: because of the point of view the little man becomes even smaller.

Interesting BW shot and cropping of the ice crem salesman making a business of selling between the waiting cars. Very good documentary from this border...

the weels of the car are is big as the icecreamman!!! it looks like a hot day so an ice cream would certainly not be misplaced... never heard of Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers but here's another song from our beloved Tom:

I'll be clickin' by your house about two forty-five
Sidewalk sundae strawberry surprise,
I got a cherry popsicle right on time
A big stick, mamma, that'll blow your mind

'Cause I'm the ice cream man,
I'm a one-man band (yeah)
I'm the ice cream man, honey,
I'll be good to you.

have a nice day

Nice perspective with half of those monster trucks on both side, real good choice of cropping. Moreover b&w realy suits. Thanks for sharing
