Una Soda (Por Favor)
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I was eating my favorite taco at my favorite taco stand in Rocky Point (pictures of that to come later), and I looked over and saw this nice stack of beverages. The very recognizable Coca Cola bottles (they're reusable in Mexico, and bottles are very common), Fanta, and Sprite.
"Una soda por favor
Can't drink cervecas anymore
'Cause if I do I fear I'll fall down on the floor
Una soda por favor
Can't drink that anymore
Donde esta el bano senor?
Point me to the door
Come off a hard day of thinking
Just thought I'd do a little drinking
Now man the lifeboats
I think my ship is sinking, yeah
¿Que hora es senor?
And who's that pretty girl standing there, by the door?
I think I knew her from a thousand years before"

Love this! Your composition is great... Did you touch the painting or was it hanging in this way?
Would love to have a soda and a real taco as well! :-)
I was often saying "Limonada, por favor" in Mexico but also "Margerita" or other drinks with Tequila...;)
Here, you make me discover another song of your favorite band and I wonder if you had my e-mail last week...
Nice framing of this painting and good choice making it B/W. Bravo, Jennifer!
Nice one. I love the glass coke bottles, still common everywhere except in the West. Nice non-postcard composition with the bottles and painting. Cheers Jen!

I like this simple but powerful composition. The picture on the wall dragged my attention and I noticed how precisely the flowers baskets on the pictured cart call up the bottles settled in the cases below. Probably I'd cropped a bit more from the left to add more weight to the painting, which is the main subject here, i think. Scene superbly seen.
And I like the song too :)
