Photographer’s Note
This was taken at an artists' atelier in Copala, Mexico. Copala is a very small village in the Sierra Madre mountains outside of Mazatlan.
Copala is a former mining town known that was once known for mining silver and gold.
Today there are about 600 people living there. It would be a great place to come and sit and rest. The village has a small store, a bakery, the artist's atelier, a beautiful baroque church (San Jose), and during the Spring, beautiful beaugenvilla plants draping over some of the buildings.
There is also a quaint square in the middle of the village around which everything is based. The two restaurants are about 100 yards away down a narrow street, which is what the village has.
