Photographer’s Note
I took a photo of this tree because I think it is an amazing example of the perseverance of life in a rugged habitat. This tree, which some estimate could be hundreds of years old, is growing out of sheer rock. Its beautiful crimson foliage with the spectacular Urique River canyon in the background was a joy to behold.
