Photographer’s Note
A blue, blue, sky of freedom for Mexico, from the colonial Spanish yoke. Viva la Revolution!
"The Mexican War of Independence (1810–1821) was an armed conflict between the people of Mexico and the Spanish colonial authorities which started on 16 September 1810. The Mexican War of Independence movement was led by Mexican-born Spaniards, Mestizos and Amerindians who sought independence from Spain. It started as an idealistic peasants' rebellion against their colonial masters, but finally ended as an unlikely alliance between liberals and conservatives.
It can be said that the struggle for Mexican independence dates back to the decades after the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire, when Martín Cortés, son of Hernán Cortés and La Malinche, led a revolt against the Spanish colonial government in order to eliminate the issues of oppression and privileges for the conquistadors."

Somehow your close, low POV emphasisies the joy of success as the statue embraces the Heavens. The Mexican flag adds an eye-catching splash of different colours to the scene, appropriate to the subject.

fascinating that a more-than-65T-points photog posts a crap like this and noone ever dares mention a single "mistake" like:
- distortion - a simple to adjust element
- a falling/leaning statue - is there some kind of a left-wing-bent in mexico?
dear chris,
i think you could do much better than just pressing a button, resizing, uploading...
sorry to be so streightforward but this photo is....
best, j.

Hello Chris,
Interesting shot on this monument with glory of the Mexican revolution for its independence. The light was excellent this day to enable us to appreciate much detail and this polarized sky raises the unit. Well done Chris, and thank you for the interesting note.

Hi Chris,
The subject is well framed. The view from the bottom to the top is giving perspective to the photo. It is also allowing us to see with precision the details and colors of the monument. The nice blue sky is sending a light which is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.
