I spent 7 years in Mexico in the mid 90s to the end of 2002, and it is a place that I still think about fondly and quite often. A beautiful country with beautiful people. Certanily the place where I really started developing my love of photography, of ruins and of festivals (not to mention chile sauce).
I have recently started scanning in some of my slides from those days - slowly, but surely, - with all the associated problems of scanning: a little bit over saturated and some loss of detail.
This is one of my earliest and still favourite dance photographs and is 'Mexico in one photograph' in my own memories. People, colours, confusion and action. Reality is slightly blurred at the edges.
The title, by the way, comes from an Octavio Paz quote which has stuck in my mind.

lovely capture full of dynamism. The rich and warm colors add a lot too.

Hello Iain - The swirl of dresses really sums up the vibrancy and dynamic movement of dance. An expressive and very good shot. Warm regards rosemary

This brings me back to your shots from Argentina a little, the artistic presentation of performers. This is a sensory delight, the intensity of movement and colour.

Beautiful combination of dynamism and movement in the arts (dancing).
This is a prayer.

good use of the ambient light and the slower shutter perfectly expresses the movement. Theres a fine line between too sharp and too blurry, you have cuaght it nicely.

What a wonderfully dynamic image, like the sense of motion and the shape of the dresses.

Welcome back! Lovely to see you back here posting again. And what a shot! It looks like a sculpture or the inside of Bryce or Antelope Canyon in Utah. Beautiful textures, tight framing and control of the shutter speed. The image has such an impressive sense of movement. One of my favourites in your brilliant gallery. Congratulations.

I have started to run through you gallery and this one is truly amazing. However it lacks a single sharp point, the feel of motion in this picture is really amazing!
Goes to my fav list.
