Great capture of daily life. Both versions are nice but the b&w has a more of a feel to it. Very sharp and well lit. Good work.

To be honest, I do prefer the sepia one. It gives a feeling of going back in time, with that old Singer. It is funny, but my mother still uses an old sewing machine like that and I am sure it is much older than 20 years, since I remember my mother’s machine back 45 years ago.

By a long shot I prefer the sepia. It looks so old, and has that warm glow, very inviting and nostalgic. Really nice shot, good composition, but Id also like a bit more space at the top, the head is a bit crowded up there.

Salut Jérôme,

petite question, d'abord, pourquoi avoir décidé de changer le ton et les couleurs de la photo ? Je trouve la photo originale bien meilleure et beaucoup plus ancrée dans le réel. Ici, je ne pense pas que la photo se prête à la création d'un nouvel univers, ou à la mise en place d'une ambiance qui la dénature. Les tons et les contrastes qui sont bien présents dans la photo originale disparaissent et c'est trop lisse, trop glissant. Alors que j'ai pris beaucoup de plaisir dans la photo originale, je me suis passablement ennuyé dans la seconde, dans la mesure où les signes disparaissent, les indices de clarté, de noirceur, les éléments qui créent la scène : la couleur du tissus, celle de ses vêtements..., sont mis de côté. Je trouve ça dommage, d'autant plus que la photo est aussi plus sombre et moins facile à lire. Je note la pastille verte pour l'originale et la pastille jaune pour l'autre.

Ce n'est sans doute qu'une question de point de vue, à lire les autres membres. Je suis le seul, et de loin, à penser ainsi.

Ciao Jerome,
la versión sepia parece tomada por un documental de la época y es muy eficaz y contribuye a atenuar la demasiada luz que entra de la ventana, pero a mí gusta mucho también la versión a colores, es más realista y devuelve mejor la idea del empleo, todavía hoy, de instrumentos indestructibles de un tiempo.

Me he perdido varias de tuus ultimas ffotos.
Me gustaa muchho, yy prefiero el blanco yy negro que el colorr ya que nos trae un aambiente particular y adeemas la luz ffueurte de la ventana se ve mejor en blanco y n egro

The thing than I love about my country it the people, (sorry). Creoq ue la gente te da todo y te loda de corazon te invitan aentrar en sus vidas y te abren las puertas de par en par, y eso es algo muy importamte y un gesto muy bueno de los mexicanos.

Esta foto lo refleja y tu lo supiste captar mauy bien en verdad y eso es loque hace de esta foto una exelente foto, de ehcho me gusta como cmabiaste el color, ese verda con B&W ademas del doble marco que le colocaste.

La imagen que nos muestras posee una gran fuerza, el color elegido aporta una pizca de dramatismo a la escena, la luz es buena, aunque creo que la mujer estaría mejor si estuviese un poco descentrada en la imagen, buen trabajo amigo!

Una autentica joya Jero . Esa opcion de color dramatiza la escena , le da un aire mas atemporal , quizas mas pasado . Me recuerda uno de tantos escenerios del realismo frances en pintura (en este caso con una fotografia que mezcla la dimension documental ,ligando la imagen con la nota , y el detalle realmente artistico con el magnifico tratamiento de la luz , las diferentes texturas y la mirada placida , llena de paz interior y centrada de Carmen , tu protagonista .
Un placer grande verte de nuevo por aqui .Abrazos mon ami

Ps:La version a color me gusta mucho , el azul de la pared envejecido , oxidado , las demas tonalidades crean tambien un efecto de decadencia a la vez que de alegria y esperanza en esa lucha que relatas de esa gente por la vida

Salut Jerome,

Je suis une grand fans de sepia, mais dans ce cas je penche pour la photo en coleur car je trouve qui le sepia est un peut trop sombre et j'aime bien le bleu de murs sur la photo WS. Belle scene qui nous raconte un peut de la vie des gens de la campagne, je trouve la lumire special. Je me pose pourtant le question si le sujet hors du centre ne ferait encore mieux...

Evocative photo. I like both sepia and color for different reasons. The sepia is more of an "art" picture, but the color version is more realistic and journalistic. I can appreciate the true color of the walls in her home and the color of the fabric she is sewing. This all imparts a richer flavor of this particular Mexican experience.

Jeroime, this picture is magnificent!

This is one of the rare cases in which a centered-framed subject works extremely well. Lightning is superb, magical, spectacular. I'm in love with this shot.

Great composition and a wonderful woman to shoot. Bravo!

Ça fait plusieurs fois que je regarde cette photo et son originale en WS et je n'arrive toujours pas à me décider sur celle que je préfère. Alors, j'abandonne et me consacre au sujet et non aux couleurs!
Bien que je déteste coudre, j'adore les vieux objets, et les vielles machines à coudre font partie de mes favoris. Une bonne vieille Singer noire chromée, c'est du bonbon! J'aime le regard concentré de la couturière, son pied nu sur la pédale et les longues bandes de tissu qui s'accumulent en tas au pied du meuble.
Une photo récente qui nous ramène directement à un monde passé (dans ma région du monde!)

Revisando tu galería, me encuentro con esta foto en estilo envejecido.
La composición es agradable, dentro del tono dramatico del escenario, la entrada de luz por la ventana es apropiado, sin distorsionar ningún elemento. Gran trabajo, felicitaciones.
