Photographer’s Note
I was studying Spanish in Cuernavaca, and while I was there I stayed with a local family. Taking the bus to school every morning I would come across this interesting mural. It faces east, and the morning sun illuminates it perfectly so one day I woke up a little earlier to photograph it.

Mexican Muralists
There is a strong tradition of mural painting in Mexico - with Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siquieros and José Clemente Orozco, "Los Tres Grandes", dominating the scene.
In 1921, all 3 were all commissioned by the government to create educational paintings on the walls of public buildings. Their accessible works are still a powerful and beautiful reminder of the continuing struggle of the native Indians today.

About This Mural
The wall above the black door seems to be made up of 18 names and "traits", and the artist has signed it "by Trozomer" on the right corner of the mural and the wall beside it says 'made by the trozomer 18' below 'Para toda la banda de la canola burenos, 18 locos fue no'.
I asked for a translation, and one has been kindly given by Alonso (Alonso69). You can view it under "What it all means..." in the notes below.

Hi Lynn
I really appreciate you sharing this everyday scene from a part of the world that i really want to visit myself. The photo is tightly framed and the colour rendition is excellent. You have done well to use the morning light. Well done

This is interesting,
there's a whole lot of names top right, wonder if those were collaborators? This looks like a neighbourhood heavy having a religious experience. Coool ...
I get attracted by graffiti art and urban murals a lot; and my previous impression of mexican murals were that they are very religious in nature. Your informative writeup of the The Grand Trio piqued my interest and did a net search - these guys are GOOD!!! Art without Fart!!!
Even found a book containing their murals too

More Murals shots in future?? "Los Tres Grandes" ? :)

Hi Lynn, strong, everyday life picture. Very colorful. The door is funny. It seems so packed between the painting and the wall, hardly any space left. Good note!
