El 聲gel de la Independencia

Statue of Angel is located in Paseo De La Reforma street in the heart of Mexico city. I happen to stay in a nearby hotel and took this timed night shot using my point and shoot camera. This place has a historic significance and a WIKI link is given along. This seems to be a gift from Germany after Mexico got independence from Spain.
Had to take this picture by stabilizing the camera on a lamp post. Added some SEPIA effect and sharpened, resized the picture.
Check the WIKI link here
This is the first time I visited Mexico and I felt it had some contrasting lifestyles. Restaurants are priced equal to the U.S whereas I don't think the income level is equalled. Awesome tropical weather and enjoyed my short stay.
posted its original version in Workshop.
Cheers

another landmark renamed by the people, original name was "la victoria alada" or "winged victory", BTW el angel de la independencia has a downfall to earth in 1957 caused by a 7.5 earthquake, and there is a joke about a drunkman that seeing the angel fallin start yelling at the angel "flap your wings idiot!! flap your wings!!!"
