tourists on the pyramid. part of bigger cycle, tourists as photo models have become my obsession during this trip to more touristic countries.
Do not get me wrong. I have nothing against tourism, they make my living. What I try to do now is treat them as equally important part of reality as architecture, locals etc, they also make what we see around, so stop trying to cut them out from that "perfect postcard" picture of the place you visit...

in case you´re suffering from the "touristic fever", please join us at the TE meeting in the neetherlands ;)
love the pov here, the colour/position repetition and the textures, something you catch so well so frequently.

Tourists often destroy atmosphera in the most beautiful places in the world! We have better going there far from touristic season, or in hours when there is no crowd. Sometimes they cry so loud that it is not possible to enjoy or to concentrate. It happened to me in Western Lake, Hangzhuo.
This pic is so well composed, diagonal are very nice.

Yes ... you are right, every time i tried to take a snap intending to portrait Montmartre as if anything had changed since Picasso , Modigliani and many others lived there , a japanese appeared just crossing , but they are , we are, part of this landscape , so no reasons to complain ...The picture you have taken is so original , it is the first i see in this shape with a very interesting sensation of vertigo

Fantastic shot, Swiatek, the three woman are in perfect unison as they descend your vertigenously steep pyramid steps. Great work, design, again. Much looking forward to your Mexican shots, as Nygus is still there, not only in Africa. The style is there.

Nice work on diagonals. The group makes a nice triangle of points of interst and they repeat nicely both in shapes and colors.

Well seen. You has created a nice composition where the tilt lines dominates the composition.

Interesting idea to include tourists deliberately, I've done that just a handful of times. This is a nice composition with good diagonals. It doesn't really make any social comment about tourism, though, because we don't see their faces or attitudes in any way. Social comment is not required, of course, as this one can stand as just a nice composition. Regards, Ken.

Perfect composition Swiatek!
It's really stunning how you managed it!
A diagonal pleasure for the eyes.

Totally agree with you about not cutting out the tourists - although I haven't yet posted shots with tourists in yet. I will, just haven't gotten to them yet. But in places like these, this IS the character of the place now. Probably what keeps it maintained and accessible. Cutting them out all together would be not much different than photoshoping them out. And they did help show a good sense of scale on this shot.

Good note and excellent perspective, Swiatek, as well as very good colours, contrast and DOF, well done!
