This church was built in the 18th century, completed in 1728 in baroque style, as most of Mexican churches of the colonial era. It belonged to the Franciscan friars.

Another splendid capture of multicoloured Guanajuato.
Beautiful colonial architecture in an unusual red colour.
Best regards, Paul

A beautiful building, and again your choice of the upwards view makes it all the more imposing sand impressive. The level od detail around and above the doorway is really impressive. Nice composition of the sculpture on the right too, it shows up really well against the red tones.
All the best

Très belle complémentarité de couleurs entre les teintes de ces architectures et le bleu de ce ciel.

I really wish we would see more mexican architecture on TE, this is great.
when you're standing so close to the church you're going to have to look upwards so thats ok.
the same colored dome on the left is very interesting too, excellent post and subject for TE
