This is from the Long Beach area of Pacific Rim National Park. Taken way after sunset, with an exposure time of 30 seconds, which means it was near darkness. The slight amount of colour in the sky turned up a really deep orange in this long exposure, but the thing that attracted me to this was the ripples in the sand.

You used very simple composition, but it makes the picture easy to watch and the coulours are fantastic.
Kind Regards Jiri

your POV is extremly giving the sense of depth, the natural colours of horizon looks amazing.. Also the clarity of the details despite the poor light is perfect..
Very well done

You found an excellent place for this image.

The undulating curves of the pools, add good lead in lines. Superb reflections, colour & sharpness. Tfs!

Fantastic all around. I agree with all the positives that people have said. My only want would be to have it in a frame...I think that would really make the colors stand out more.

as long as you have shots like this done with your D200 I don't mind to wait for the shots done with the newer camera. Superb light and color management with hte nice detai lof the sand rippling in the foreground leading through the tide pool into a sea of dreams. Latter was nicely achieved with the 30s shutter openinng.

La composition avec ces deux mares est aussi très bien pensée;

Very nice one, Alvin, almost an abstract result you got. The long exposure renders a soothing color setting and calming atmosphere, and as so often in your portfolio, the vertical format is an apt choice.

I like the mood of stillness here, Alvin, but with a certain tension that comes from the strong contrast between the black rocks and the intense sunset. It feels like the stillness is about to be broken. Ideal exposure, too. Regards, Ken.

Beautiful, love the composition with the ripples in the sand and the pools of water besides the rocks to the colourful sunset in the distance.

The warm colors in the horizon are really attractive and make a lovely contrast with the darker elements...The long exposure gave good result and I like the smooth texture of the water.

The use of a tripod and an exposure time of 30 seconds gave a nice effect on the secenery of the beach and of the sunset. The point of view leads our eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the photo. The subject is well frame. the light of the sunset is giving nice colors to the sky and the sea and some shadows to the picture. Have a nice day.

I like a lot the texture of the ripples in the sand, and - of course - the colors.
A beautiful sunset cshot, different from many others
