Photographer’s Note

This old man was playing flute on Mount Royal today. Just a moment before, someone else was searching through a trash can for empty cans and bottles. Then I realized how much people aren't working from 8AM to 5PM, in a big office, with air conditioning. But one thing is sure : On this sunday, on foot or on bicycle, the young and the old, the rich and the poor; everyone was on the mountain trying to get the best of this beautiful day.

Ce vieil homme jouait de la flute sur le Mont-Royal aujourd'hui. Quelques instants au paravant, une autre personne fouillait dans une poubelle à la recherche de cannettes et de bouteilles. À ce moment, j'ai réalisé combien de gens ne travaillent pas des horaires 8h à 17h, dans un grand bureau, avec l'air climatisé. Mais une chose était certaine : à pied ou en vélo, jeune ou vieux, riche ou pauvre; tous étaient sur la montagne à essayer de profiter au maximum de cette belle journée.

Interesting shot, Simon. The old man's white beard and cap, make me think of an old sailor. But the rest of his outfit makes me think of an unfashionable parent. Good choice of B/W. A good note, which sets the scene.

Très jolie photo, Simon. Le noir et blanc est très adapté. Dommage qu'il y ai ce je ne sais quoi noir à gauche de l'image. C'est une belle conposition, félicitations,

Belle photo, tu as bien saisi le moment. Je trouve que le poteau à gauche de la photo coupe bien celle-ci.

Yes, that's life too. Good capture and looks very good in B&W for me. You could have cropped out the dark pole on the left, but it is not too disturbing. Good work.

Belle photo! La note est très belle aussi! Le B&W va bien! Ils ont raison au sujet du poteau à gauche... S'il est possuble de re-cadrer ou de pâlir le noir du poteau afin d'être plus dans le ton! Ps: Je te félicite pour l'idée de génie!

Très belle photo Simon, le noir et blanc est avantageux ici. Comme vous dites, tout le monde profite d'une belle journée, et c'est bien ainsi.

Très bonne photo, Simon. J'aime beaucoup. La composition est bonne, le choix du noir et blanc est judicieux, et le sujet est bien choisi.

J'aime bien ce musicien. Quand je suis passée par là la semaine dernière, il était au même endroit et jouait une jolie chanson traditionnelle que me chantait mon grand-père. Merci de me rappeller ce bon moment!

guai luron ce charment Musicien...belle prise de vue en N & B...bon choix...j'aime bien cette scene remplie de tendresse...presque à entendre le son de sa flûte...je pense que la vie est drôlement plus cool la-bas qu'en Belgique ou ce n'est que stress tout le temps...merci pour ce moment de détendre avec ce brave musicien...amicalement BI
