Lake O`Hara I Photo

Photographer’s Note

Lake O`Hara, the first day of Summer 2008.
The photo was taken at about 6pm and in fact is composed of 5 frames,stitched in Photoshop.
It was pretty difficult to process because not even the Singh Ray filter added to the B+W filter were not enough to attenuate the too high contrast between the sky and the rest of the photo.Maybe it doesn`t look like now,but that was what I had to fight with.
What else could I say about the place?...Just take a look for yourself:)
I hope the large version will add some more detail about this magnificent place.

Hey Nelu;

Nice shot from the beautiful rockies- makes me look forward to my upcoming trip home in August!
Great clarity, tonal levels, and colors; however, looking at the water level to the far right of the frame in relation to the water level to the far left, I think the image is crooked and could use a slight clockwise rotation Nelu.
Otherwise a nice shot...

P.S.- I think ensuring the shoreline along the FAR shore (under the peak) would give you a more level looking image.

Hi,
this is a fantastic place, indeed! Your shot is quite good presenting the nature very well. The large version surely adds more detail! I like very much those rocky peaks, the colour and the fact that I can see beneath the surface of the water!

Gorgeous landscape, like a panoramic postcard. Very natural colour and sharp detail. The horizon is tilting down to the left and could have been straightened in PP.

Vey nice shot. The green water is remarkably vivid and the details of the surrounding trees are captured perfectly. Good composition, too, with the closest tree to the left providing more depth to the shot. Thanks for sharing!

This is an impressive view. Not easy to get a good quality in the small version, but you did a good job.
In the large version you see some halos and artifacts becouse of the compression.
It's a bit like the Norwegion countrysite where I spent my holiday.

very nice shot, the colours in the water are superb, may be the mountain on the left is a little bright but, the view is breathtaking. Excellent sharpness and reflections
