Photographer’s Note

The reddish hill here is called Flute. It's one of the three Musical Bumps (the others are Oboe and Piccolo), in the countryside above Whistler ski resort. There are several great walking tracks around here with magnificent views. In the background is Mt Tremor and Shudder Mountain. The slight pink colour of the snow on the right is due to algae - it is called watermelon snow.

The best way to get here is to catch the gondola from Whistler village, and then the chairlift to the summit of Mt Whistler.

Scanned from a slide. Polariser used. A contrast mask was applied in Photoshop to lighten up the dark areas.
