Photographer’s Note

Cardinal Winds

There, where I live, there are winds and gales;
we respect each other,
although we blow different moans.
I am learning carefully
to know better our Cardinal points.

From the South, the wind comes warm,
brings lightning and homesickness,
thunders, storms.
We must go outside
to invite the sun
to recreate Summer colours.

From the Northern frozen breezes,
I protect myself the best I can
and with the mantle of the snow,
deaf-mute, both of us.
I look for fresh snow paths
covering the ice on the ground
- a slip could be fatal.

Ah, do not come to me, winds from the East!
Although, in the past, you have been glorious
bringing navigators,
You also bring staggering gusts,
storms.
Let us shut doors and windows!
Please, enter from the other side.

The pacific wind from the West
- it calms Atlantic longings.
It is the dominant, native wind
which makes me feel secure and cheers me up.
It softens my verses.

Um céu azul, de puro azul e uma bela fotografia. O poema, também belo, nos foi negado a autoria... (Ou teria sido escrito pela fotógrafa MCV ? )
Bons ventos que a tenham aí na distante Canadá e que the tragam muita felicidade!

Hi Maria. That must be a northern hemisphere poem all the winds are opposite here, cold from the south etc. Nice photo. Well composed the roofline leads the naturally to the main subject. Good colours and details also. Thanks for sharing.

Olá Maria,

If I remember well people where I grew up call these devices Gallito Cardinal. Interesting theme for ths image. The tilted roof add a nice dynamic line to the view. The house seem pretty under the blue sky. Thanks Maria.

Fico impressionada com a tonalidade deste céu, límpido e de um azul maravilhoso. Gostei do tema, está criativo. A luminosidade da foto também está ótima, a luz que passa sobre os telhados, está brilhante, dando umas sombras nítidas, mas suaves. Bonitos detalhes desta arquitetura. Um abraço, Consuelo

Lindo poema sobre os ventos e pontos cardeais e uma interessante foto enfatizando -os.As flores à direita fazem uma tímida, porém bela nota à parte.

É uma coisa muito comum em Portugal mas mais vezes visto no topo das torres das igrejas do que em casas particulares.
Acho a tua foto muito interessante, com um bom PDV e cores muito bonitas.

Boa foto do cata-vento para ilustrar a poética nota.
Aqui em Portugal (zona de Lisboa) os ventos também estão bem associados ao tempo. Vento de sudoeste no inverno é chuva. Vento de este no verão é um calor infernal.
E há o famoso provérbio: de Espanha nem bom vento nem bom casamento :-)

A foto está muito bonita, as cores fascinam. Gostaria muito que as flores tomassem maior espaço na foto permitindo um belíssimo contraste de cores com o lindo céu. Talvez uma imagem na vertical, não sei, mas está linda, parabéns!

Olá Carmo,
Bela foto, acompanhada por um lindo poema a condizer.
A perspectiva e enquadramento estão fabulosos e, apesar de ter uns problemazitos técnicos que me parecem inevitáveis com aquele sol e sombras (sombras ruidosas, nitidez imperfeita no fundo, OE no cata-vento e no canto inferior direito), no geral está parece-me bem tecnicamente. A parte de cima do céu bem 'lisinha' é de encher o olho.

Bela foto em tons de azul , muito bonita a casa tem belos detalhes junto do telhado , gostei muito do catavento vem desde os tempos dos gregos só na idade média começa a ter grande difusão e aparece usualmente como remate das torres das igrejas, começou por ser um sinal de nobreza e só as casas nobres, eclesiásticas e militares tinham o direito de o possuir,parabéns!!
