Photographer’s Note
Castle Mountain seems to be kind of a landmark in the Banff area, as is the bridge itself in some ways. This particular spot is referred to as Castle Junction. I am not big on nature shots being spoiled by too much of Man's influence, but in this one I decided to include the bridge. I guess I am becoming a die-hard photographer, because it wasn't all that easy taking this shot. The snow was deep, and the wind bitter cold.

Hello Steve
The colours in this image are lovely and rich and very eyecatching. The composition of the various elements in the shot had been carefully considered. Nice work.
Best wishes

Hello Steve,
Thi is one of the nicest shots of this mountain I have seen so far. Castle Mountain is a photogenic pile of rubble indeed and the inclusion of the bridge enhances the view greatly. Overall the composition is excellent and the colours seem nicely improved by the polarizer but still look natural. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Steve,
How did Castle Mountain get its name? It doesn't look like a place where I would quickly build a castle :-).
And, thanks for your ordeal to get this nice point of view! No frostbite I hope? ;-)

Salut Steve
C'est une véritable invitation au voyage.. Ces falaises.. surement des amateurs de base jump..
LA neige au premier plan est du même bleu que le ciel..
La lumière est remarquable..Ce pont.. bonne idée..
Bravo

Fantastic shot. I remember an icecream shop close to this bridge. But the weather does not seem to support a generous serve of icecream. More hot chocolate then?
A Polariser filter increases the blue of the sky, but does strange things to the rest of the landscape. Hence I have done a workshop, in which I have decreased the contrast and increased the red channel.

Steve,
This is a great winter postcard shot! Your composition is great using the river to create a diagonal which gives the photo nice direction. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF.

Stunning, absolutely stunning!! Love your deep rich and vivid colors and the pov is great although I appreciate your view on nature versus what man has made. Fine shot and TFS. Gerald

Wonderful photo, but it seems so cold! I have never been to Banff, but have heard much about it from my daughter. Very clear photo, and the mountain shape is amazing.
