Photographer’s Note
Not exactly what one might think of a New Year shot, but I thought of new beginnings and strength when I spotted this little branch against the large expanse of snow under which we find ourselves here.
Nothing more than a branch, alive, with tiny buds that will blossom into leaves in a few months.
Wishing you all a wonderful New Year of new openings and discoveries. Thanks to all of you for your ongoing kind comments while I have been absent from TE.
Will try to catch up.
Technical note: it is in colour, not bw...

Hi Sasa, Happy New Year! Very Picasso-like use of a few simple lines to express a lot. I particularly like the way the short blurred twig and the one to its right bend toward each other gracefully. Having just a touch of color is nice--some shots need desaturation to B/W to avoid distraction by colors, but this one is simple enough that it's unnecessary. Beautiful simplicity! Regards, Ken.

hi sarolta
It's nice to see you back on TE.
This is an unusual picture. Minimaliste. Pure esthetisme.
I wish you all the best for the new year.

A good minimal image Sarolta, which works well with the obvious overcast winters day of Canada. I could also see this working with a nice splash of colour from a flower.

Dear Sasa,
What a delicate image. Minimalist in the form but full of beauty... The fragility overcome by the tenacity... The white space creates such a suggestive feeling of depth, the little branch penetrating into the future... Poetry in few traces... Lovely.
Wish you all the best for 2008!

As an Haiku japonais your picture is simply the poesie, the beauty of something minimalist. Great!
Technicaly it's a really good job with depth and lights.

I missed this...but it's not too late. Just wonderful, I love the way this tiny branch stands against the white background, fragile looking yet containing the promise of a new cycle. Great minimalism and sensitivity.
Wish you all the best in this New Year!

Hi Sarolta,
Simple and beautiful! Fragile and full of hope in the future. It make me think about Japanese poems that concentrates such powerful feelings in simple images. Is never late to say Happy New Year, so here I go!
Regards,
Flavia
