| Saskatchewan, one of the prairie provinces of Canada is one of the biggest grain producers of the world, mostly wheat. Other important crops are canaola and flax. The main harvest time is Septembert. I am working with farmers in Austria, so I am very interested in agriculture and September was so the best time for me to Saskatchewam. The sad thing is, that the harvest around Saskatoon was delayed due to the weather and the harvest around Regina was already done. So I did not see a lot of it. For me this picture is a symbol of the harvet and Saskatchewan. Straw balls and the famous Grain Elevators are monuments of Saskatchewan. Most of the Grain Elevators are not uses anymore, because itīs not economical and so the number of them is falling. But they should try to save them, because itīs the symbol of the province. And the Straw balls should not become the only symbol. Some word to the picture. It was taken on my way back to Saskatoon after a visit of the Batoche Historic Site on one of the sunniest days on my journey. |

Hi Andreas!
Very nice photo of these straw bales and the region with lovely, warm colors.
Thanks for sharing!

Hello Andreas,
you've done very well here composing the picture. The straw ball is close enough to see the details and not too close and leaving space to the eye to discover the beautiful gold tone contrasted by the blue sky. Good job!
Thanks for sharing it and regards,
Igor
Perfect comp. A textbook shot. Nice one. Regards, TW
